We are all aware of the fact that New interest rates have come into affect from today i.e., 01/04/2016. These interest rates will prevail up to 30/06/2016. As per the new SB Order 01/2016 it is announced that these interest rates will be reviewed and revised on quarterly basis. Have a look at the below table for the new interest rates.

The decrease in the rates may cause a slight decrease in the deposits. But the good news is RBI will decrease the Repo rate by another 25 points in its next quarterly review of interest rates. Then again post office saving rates will again be more than what banks can offer. So get ready for another huge rush at counters.
