Many of us are facing this situation that our juniors are also
getting same basic as per the latest pay matrix. Whether this is correct?
Actually 7th CPC gazette has given clarification about this point. Please see
the image below.
As you can see to avoid bunching of pay in the same cell, the
commission has recommended to give one increment to the person drawing higher
pay and fix the salary in the next level of pay in the pay matrix.
As an example let us consider two people A and B drawing salaries
11170 and 11510 respectively as on 01.01.2016. Both A and B will be fixed at
29600 in the new pay matrix as per the recommendation. But since the pay of
both the officials in bunched in the same cell of pay matrix, the new pay of B
shall be 30500.
